Office Staff

Thank you for your interest in Trion Elementary School and this opportunity to share our experience with you. Our school consists of grade levels Pre-Kindergarten through grade five, with an enrollment of approximately 695 students. A large percentage of our student population resides outside our school district, making TES a school of choice for many of our parents. Trion Elementary School operates on the philosophy that experiences and relationships are the building blocks of true learning. Within our school, teachers and staff members make it a point to get to know the children both on an instructional and personal level. We are a data driven school, but behind the numbers are the hopes, dreams, and smiles of amazing children. Within a relationship with our students and each other, we build an engaging learning experience for all.

Instructionally, we strive to provide an enriched, challenging environment in which students can learn with the support necessary to succeed. A visitor to one of our classrooms will commonly find students working in small instructional groups with a teacher or with peers, and at times working independently, to advance learning. Technology is utilized continuously in our school with the use of classroom Smart Boards, classroom computers, two computer labs, and iPads. Using the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) in Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies, our teachers make every effort to create lessons that are learning experiences, not just a list of assignments for students to complete.

Additionally, students have opportunities to develop skills and express themselves in art, choral music, physical education, and computer courses. Each child in Kindergarten through 5th grade participates in Art, Music, and Computer classes once per week, and P.E. twice per week. Together, teachers of these courses enable students to experience, learn, and develop life-long appreciation for fine arts, personal fitness, and technology.

Proudly, Trion Elementary School is a part of a rich tradition in education and has been recognized on the state and national level. As recently as 2011, TES received the National Blue Ribbon Award from the U. S. Department of Education. We are a 2012 Georgia School of Excellence for Highest Performance, a 2013 and 2014 Title I Reward School, and a 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 Title I Distinguished Reward District. Our current CCRPI score is 92.5, the highest score for a Pre-K through 5th grade school in Northwest Georgia.  It is through the dedication of our faculty and staff, the commitment of our students, and the unending support of our parents that we have been able attain these achievements.
