Student Support

Trion City Schools' Special Education Department provides educational services to students with varying disabilities. We serve students between the ages of 3 and 21. All students in the special education program have an Individualized Educational Program (IEP). The IEP determines the placement that best supports the student in accessing the educational setting.

Trion City Schools' Special Education Department provides numerous support services to students with disabilities. We currently employ 10 teachers and 3 paraprofessionals who instruct and assist students with disabilities to insure that they receive appropriate instructional strategies and accommodations/modifications to allow them the opportunity to reach their greatest potential in their educational setting whether it be co-teaching, separate class or consultative segments. We also provide contracted educational support services in the areas of occupational therapy, physical therapy, and deaf/hard of hearing services enabling us to provide a higher level of service.
